چکیده

Blood flow is the volume of blood that passes through a particular point in the circulatory system. Measuring the blood flow is of prime importance because it not just plays a very crucial role in understanding the functionality of heart but also other organs. It is a reflection of the cardiac activity and greatly helps in monitoring the same. The proposed methodology of blood flow measurement is based upon the acquisition of the photoplethysmography (PPG) signal from the body and by carrying out analysis on the signal the parameters related to heart like the stroke volume, heart rate and blood flow are calculated. The methodology involves design of a reflectance type of an optical sensor from which the photoplethysmography (PPG) signal is acquired. The transfer of the conditioned signal on the computer for further processing is accomplished by using a microcontroller. The signal is then analyzed and processed on MATLAB to determine the blood flow happening across the measurement site. Experimental analysis is then done by carrying out data collection on subjects of different age groups and gender and reliable conclusions are drawn. This method of measurement is advantageous when compared to other methods of blood flow measurement as it is a non-invasive technique and makes use of optical sensor which is rugged and simple in construction making the entire system easy to maintain. Non-Invasive Glucose Measurement by Use of Metabolic Heat Conformation Method

A non-invasive glucose measurement system based on the method of metabolic heat conformation (MHC) is presented in this paper. This system consists of three temperature sensors, two humidity sensors, an infrared sensor and an optical measurement device. The glucose level can be deduced from the quantity of heat dissipation, blood flow rate of local tissue and degree of blood oxygen saturation. ...

Presentation of a Non-invasive Method of Estimating Arterial Stiffness by Modeling Blood Flow and Arterial Wall Based on the Determination of Elastic Module of Arterial Wall

Introduction: Arterial stiffness is an important predictor of cardiovascular risk. Several indices have been  introduced to estimate the arterial stiffness based on the changes in the brachial blood pressure. Since the  substitution  of  the  blood  pressure  changes  in  the  central  arteries  such  as  carotid  with  the  blood  pressure  changes in the brachial results in error in the blood...

Determination of Blood Glucose Concentration by Using Wavelet Transform and Neural Networks

Background: Early and non-invasive determination of blood glucose level is of great importance. We aimed to present a new technique to accurately infer the blood glucose concentration in peripheral blood flow using non-invasive optical monitoring system. Methods: The data for the research were obtained from 900 individuals. Of them, 750 people had diabetes mellitus (DM). The system was ...
